Theatre classic comes to The Glove May 10

GLOVERSVILLE – The theatre classic, Steel Magnolias will be coming to The Glover on Friday, May 10.

The dinner theater production will offer a full buffet dinner catered by The Plaza Italian Bistro and the show, and also will include Mother's Day surprises.

The cost for the dinner and production is $25.00 for individuals and moms get in for $20.00 with two paid reservations.

The production will be held at The Glove from 6:30 – 10 p.m.

‘PINKALICIOUS, The Musical’ comes to Gloversville April 13

 

GLOVERSVILLE – The Foothills Family Productions is presenting ‘PINKALICIOUS, The Musical” on Saturday, April 13.

The musical will benefit the development of the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts.

Based on the popular children’s book, Pinkalicious is a sweet play about desserts.

The performance will be held at the Lexington Center in Gloversville at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 children 12 and under.

Spring Painting Classes begin April 4

Spring Painting Classes begin April 4

 

EDINBURGH –The Spring painting classes held at the Edinburg Community Center will begin on Thursday, April 4 from 6 – 9 p.m.

At the class, students will explore the versatility of acrylic paint which can be manipulated to look like oil or to appear like the washes of watercolor.

Tuition is $70, $65 for SVAN members.

The classes will be held every Thursday from April 4 – May 9.

GLOVERSVILLE – The ‘Oohs and Ahhs Art Show’ will be held at Gloversville Middle School on Tuesday, March 26.

The show will be held in the Gloversville Middle School parent room from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Flame Rocks for Abilities Concert held March 22

 

GLOVERSVILLE – A world-renowned rock bane will be coming to the Lexington Center on Friday, March 22 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Following is more information:Flame, Lexington's world-renowned rock band has been featured in People Magazine, on "Good Morning America" and has played at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 

Come see them perform at this concert that also supports Lexington's NYSARC Gives Back project during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month - enjoy FLAME's Rock for Abilities concert while supporting those in need.

Proceeds benefit our local food pantries.

This concert is open to the public. Tickets are $5 each and are available at Lexington offices in Johnstown, Gloversville, Oppenheim and Albany and Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce, 2 N. Main Street.

Demetri Martin comes to The Egg

ALBANY – On Saturday, March 16, comedian Demetri Martin will perform his special brand of comedy at The Egg.

Martin is best known for his odd take on everyday things. He has appeared on The Daily Show as well as in the films Taking Woodstock and Contagion.

He has been seen on Comedy Central in his stand up special Demetri Martin Person.

‘Into the Woods’ comes to The Glove March 8

 

GLOVERSVILLE – The Glove Performing Arts Center will present Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s “Into the Woods” beginning Friday, March 8.

The show will be held on March 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 at  7p.m. and March 10at  2 p.m.

Into the Woods are the stories of various familiar fairy tales with an original story of a childless baker and his wife. They are the focus of the story by attempting to reverse a curse on their family in order to have a child. This creates an even larger single fairy tale.

General Admission: $15.00 and Students/Seniors: $12.00.
