Local church holds chicken and biscuit dinner

CAROGA LAKE – The North Bush United Methodist Church will host a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner on May 4.

The dinner will be held at the Wheelerville Union Free School from 4-7 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door at $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and free for children under 5.

Youth development program seeks volunteers

JOHNSTOWN – A recruitment night will be held for youth members and adult volunteers who want join the local 4-H youth development program and start new 4-H clubs. 

At the "Grow with 4H" recruitment night, held on May 2, youth and adult participants will have the opportunity to plant pillow packs with marigold seeds to take home, enjoy light refreshments and learn more about 4-H in Fulton and Montgomery Counties. 

The meeting will be held at Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizen Center in Johnstown from 6:30 – 8 p.m., and is free and open to the public.

GLOVERSVILLE – The ‘Oohs and Ahhs Art Show’ will be held at Gloversville Middle School on Tuesday, March 26.

The show will be held in the Gloversville Middle School parent room from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Scrabble Tournament to benefit schools

RICHMONDVILLE – On Saturday, March 23, Assemblyman Pete Lopez will attend a benefit for Literacy New York.

In a statement to NewsChannel 13, Assemblyman Lopez said he is excited to participate and support literacy. 

"I love the literacy volunteers, and I love Scrabble," Lopez said. 

Lopez has been a sposor of this event for several years as a member of the Legislative Linguists. This year his team has merged with the Dam Concerned Citizens to form the Dam Concerned Legilative Linguists. 

The Dam Concerned Citizens are a group focused on the flooding in the Schoharie Valley. 

"I'm looking forward to us melding our minds on seven letter words to get that triple word score," Lopez said. 

The Scrabble Tournament will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Radez School.

Money raised will benefit schools in Fulton, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties.   

‘Egg-Cellent Easter Party comes to the Glove

 

GLOVERSVILLE – The Glove Performing Arts Center is holding an Easter party on Saturday, March 23 from  11a.m. – 3p.m.

The “Egg-Cellent Easter Party” will have children's activities, snacks, and meet and greet the Easter Bunny $4.00 per person. (Easter Bunny Photos will be available at an additional charge).

GLOVERSVILLE – NcNab Elementary in Gloversville will hold a Community Fun Night on Thursday, Mar. 14.

There will be free pizza and fun games & activities to help build trust from 6-8 p.m.

Community Game Night to be held March 15

JOHNSTOWN - The North Bush UMC will hold a community game night on March 15 from 6 - 10:30p.m. Following is more information:

The North Bush UMC will host a community dinner and game night downstairs in the church at 1009 North Bush Rd.  At 6pm, a dinner consisting of a variety of soups and sandwiches followed by dessert will be offered.  Beginning at 8pm, the fun will start.

There will be card games, board games, darts and an indoor version of horseshoes.  If you have a favorite game, please bring it with you. 

One of the favorites expected to be available is a deluxe scrabble game. 

The event is free and open to the public.
